“I really liked the fact that by joining the Riderwood Priority List we had a choice for our future,” says Peggy Righter, who, along with her husband Don, joined the Priority List almost five years before they were ready to move to Riderwood. “We continue to encourage our friends to do the same. You don’t know what life has in store for you. I found it gave us peace of mind.”
How the list works
When an apartment home becomes available, Riderwood’s experienced retirement counselors offer it first to members of the Priority List in order of the date they joined the list. In turn, Priority List member may pass on any apartment offered and still retain their position “in line.”
“We were never pressured to move at any time,” Peggy Righter says. “While we were on the Priority List we attended the special members’ luncheons and events which helped us learn all about living at Riderwood.”
“The Priority List provides you with the peace of mind that comes with a happy and secure future,” says Retirement Counselor Sally Sager. “For a small, refundable $1,000 deposit and a one-time-only $150 processing fee, the Priority List holds your place in line for available apartments in the future.”
Sager and fellow Retirement Counselor E lena Price encourage people to schedule a visit where they can explain in detail the variety of options available to Priority list members including available apartment floor plans and various campus locations.
Peace of mind
“The Priority List is like insurance,” Price says. “If you decide not to move at some point in the future, you get your full $1,000 refund. That’s why more than 1,100 people have already joined.
“It begs the question—why can’t everything in life be so simple?” she asks.
