Moving to Riderwood from Bethesda, Md. in October 2004, Sherrill Stover “couldn’t be happier” with her beautiful, extra-large, one-bedroom Brighton.

Q: What aspects of your Brighton home do you enjoy the most?

A: “I really enjoy all of it! If I had to choose one thing, I’d say that I especially like having the washer and dryer in my bedroom. I can sit and watch television and then just hop up and change my laundry. In my old house I had to go to the basement. Even though I am very active, this set up is much more convenient.

“I also think that the kitchen is great. It’s an adequate size for all types of cooking. But I came here to get away from all of that—and I haven’t been disappointed.”

Q: Have you met friends easily since moving to Riderwood?

A: “Yes, definitely. Within the first few weeks of moving here I started meeting new people. Everyone is so friendly; I often stop into the Wye Oak Pub and socialize. I have found that if you ask for it—Riderwood has it!”

Q: What surprised you the most about moving to Riderwood?

A: “Believe it or not, I was most surprised at how nice and friendly everyone is and how it’s so easy to find everything I need. I love not having any of the responsibilities that came with owning my house. That was a huge responsibility and one that I certainly don’t miss.”
