THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
When Marilynn Hummel and her husband, Matt, decided to move from their house in Glenview to a two-bedroom apartment home at Sedgebrook, they knew they would need to right-size their furniture and belongings to fit their new home. What they didn’t know is that they would have so much help doing it.
Mrs. Hummel says they were delighted to learn that Sedgebrook’s Personal Moving Consultant Debby Warnick could offer professional guidance to make the transition easier. Hummel says Warnick was on hand at every stage of the move—from packing boxes to arranging furniture in their new living room.
Expert guidance on moving day
"She came over quite a few times to help us decide what we wanted to take," Hummel says of Warnick’s expert services. "The day we moved, she was here, and as the movers came in with furniture, she told them where to put it."
Warnick applies her more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry to helping new Sedgebrook residents sell their houses and settle into their new apartment homes at the Lincolnshire retirement community. She is very familiar with the floor plans and dimensions of each Sedgebrook apartment home model, so she can give residents surefire advice on which pieces of furniture will fit best.
Free resource makes settling in easier
Warnick says residents don’t have to go it alone once they move. She is available to visit their apartment homes to make adjustments to their new space or offer decorating advice, as she did for the Hummels.
"I recommended a change that could be made in the closet to make it work for them, and I helped them move a couch that gave them more room in the second bedroom that they use as family room," Warnick says. "I honestly think the biggest help is just being there for support."
Mrs. Hummel says Warnick’s support during their move made all the difference.
