First of Artist Series a big hit |
| | Posted on Tuesday, July 01, 2008 | | | By Meghan Streit THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Take three guys, put them on stage with 30 instruments, and what you’ll get is the dazzling musical performance of The New Odyssey. The three Chicago natives entertained a crowd of nearly 200 people at Monarch Landing in May. The event kicked off the 2008 Artist Series, which will feature performances by topnotch musical acts throughout the summer and into the fall.
In the first of five Artist Series events, The New Odyssey wowed the audience with foot-tapping renditions of big band hits like Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood.” their music, which ranges from country numbers to pop classics, is mixed with comedy and sound-effects for a truly entertaining two hours. The talented trio doesn’t keep it simple. All three band members play more than one instrument—at the same time!
Looking for a truly unique night out with friends that will be sure to lift your spirits? Come to Monarch Landing for the next performance. See listings in the previous article "Artists Series at Monarch Landing". | |
