THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
A group of Monarch Landing residents are trying their hands at a unique instrument and filling the community with some beautiful music.
Thanks to the generosity of a donation from a fellow resident, the group was able to purchase a set of hand bells. About 24 residents have joined the choir. The group meets to practice once a week and has already performed a concert.
“We have an enjoyable time,” says choir member Diane Erickson. “It’s a new way of making music for people to enjoy.”
Erickson says she’s never played an instrument like the hand bells before, but decided to join the choir because of the beautiful sound of the delicate bells.
“A lot of people coming through to look at our community stop by to listen,” she says of the choir.
