How a shared culture of values creates a strong community

THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
It is the “culture” of an Erickson community that sets Monarch Landing apart, says Patty Luessenhop, executive director. “I have worked in the retirement industry for 20 years, and I have never worked for a company as value-driven as Erickson,” she says. “Our employees embody the values that Erickson stands for: respect, caring, enthusiasm, integrity, learning, and customer service. It is my purpose to make sure that these values are the core of all that we do at Monarch Landing.”
Building a reputation
Luessenhop credits the people who live and work at Monarch Landing for the community’s success. “Our residents invigorate me. It has been wonderful to see new friendships forming and a true culture of caring and interest in others.”
With a reputation as a highly desirably place to work, as well as to live, Monarch Landing can afford to hire only the best, explains Luessenhop. “We are able to be selective and make sure that our culture is maintained and expressed at our community.”
A place to be proud of
Currently, Luessenhop faces a situation that most can only wish for. Her community is growing in leaps and bounds, and attracting more and more people every day. According to Luessenhop, that rapid growth makes it more important than ever to continue building the culture of values that makes Monarch Landing unique.
“We are going to continue to do what we do each and every day,” she explains. “Create a community where our residents are proud to live.”
