You may already have a good relationship with a local doctor outside of Monarch Landing’s Medical Center, but what if you need urgent care that can’t wait for an appointment with your doctor? Or, what if you need a simple procedure like blood work or a free flu shot?

Even if you choose to keep your current doctor, you can still enjoy the full benefit of Erickson HealthSM at Monarch Landing. All you have to do is come by the on-site Medical Center for one visit, so your Erickson HealthSM professionals can set up your medical record using Centricity, a state-of-the-art electronic medical records system.

Here’s how you’ll benefit:

Urgent/Emergency Services—Urgent medical services are more effectively provided on campus when you have established a record in the Medical Center. That way, your Erickson HealthSM professionals have nowledge of your medical history along with contact information for your primary care physician.

Accurate records—A visit to the Medical Center ensures an accurate, up-to-date computerized medical record. A printed copy can be provided to you for travel or visits with consultants. And of course your records will be provided if you’re ever transported off-site to the emergency room.

Convenience—When you can’t get to your own physician, the Medical Center provides certain primary care services, such as blood pressure readings, blood tests, and vaccines like free flu shots.

Liaison Services—The Erickson HealthSM professional in this program provides a means of communication between your primary care physician and health care on campus.

You may benefit from the Medical Center for years without switching your primary care provider. Or, at any time, you can choose to make your Erickson HealthSM physician your primary care provider.

Q: What makes the Monarch Landing Medical Center different from other health care facilities?

A: Two things: 1) the doctors’ expertise. Expert geriatric care isn’t always available outside Erickson HealthSM. 2) The emphasis is on preventative medicine—ensuring that you stay healthly and independent.

Q: Do the doctors work exclusively at the Medical Center?

A: Yes. The doctors at the Medical Center are your doctors. They only practice at Erickson Communities, and they are dedicated to your well-being.

Q: How does the Medical Center handle appointments differently than my regular doctor?

A: Feeling comfortable with your doctor is so important. And the only way you can do that is to take time to form a relationship with him or her. That is why the doctors at the Medical Center only schedule two appointments an hour. This allows your doctor to spend time getting to know you personally, as well as addressing your health needs.

Your Medical Center being right on campus offers numerous advantages. Easy access means that bad weather will never cause you to miss your appointment. You are able to see an Erickson provider when you need to—even when you need a same-day appointment. That includes after hours. Physicians can be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Q: What happens if I have an emergency?

A: There’s always a doctor on call. Plus, Erickson HealthSM has an excellent Emergency Medical Response. Security personnel are all trained to provide emergency medical services. So you don’t have to call (or wait for) 911. Your team is here 24 hours a day, seven days a week working closely with the rest of our medical personnel.

Q: What does ‘continuum of care’ mean?

A: It means that every Erickson HealthSM professional works with you to learn your individual needs. Doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists all work interactively, exchanging information and providing the best health care possible.

To help this team, Erickson HealthSM utilizes a technologically advanced Centricity electronic medical records system. All of your information is instantly available to your experts. That means if one of your consulting specialists has prescribed a new medicine, your primary doctor will know it. That makes it easier for your Erickson HealthSM team to avoid dangerous drug interactions than it would be for a doctor, specialist, and pharmacy not similarly connected.

Q: What type of insurance does the Medical Center accept?

A: The Medical Center accepts Medicare and most supplemental insurances.  Once you meet your annual deductible, Medicare and your supplemental insurance should cover all your expenses at the Medical Center.
