Retirement Counselor Fears Similar Shortage Could Happen at Monarch Landing

By Melissa Borgerding

People are waiting in line at Sedgebrook, Monarch Landing’s sister community in Lincolnshire. That’s because Sedgebrook has completely sold out of its most popular apartment design, the Brighton. In fact, the waiting list for the Brighton has grown so long that Sedgebrook’s retirement counselor worries that many people who want the Brighton for its space, convenience, and exceptional value may have to settle for their second choice.

Now, Monarch Landing Retirement Counselor Constance Barber worries that a similar situation could happen at Monarch Landing, where there are even fewer Brighton’s planned for construction.

Erickson’s Top-Selling Design

The Brighton is Erickson’s top-selling design nationwide! But just what makes it so popular?”

“It’s very welcoming,” says Sedgebrook resident Harriett Wolf. Harriett chose her Brighton because she wanted to spend more time traveling and less time worrying about keeping up with a large home. “I really like my Brighton,” she says. “I don’t need two bedrooms to clean. I’d rather spend my money traveling.”

Already, Harriett has gone on several trips with the money she’s saved. Considered a “best value” design, the Brighton is a financially-savvy decision.

Thoughtfully Designed, Thoughtfully Priced

The Brighton is as thoughtfully designed as it is priced. The roomy living area is the perfect size for entertaining, but cozy enough to kick back and enjoy a quiet night in with your latest book club selection. The master bedroom boasts an enormous walk-in closet, while a washer and dryer are tucked discretely into the entrance foyer.

There’s plenty of elbow room in the modern kitchen. However, some of the Brighton’s biggest fans, like Sedgebrook resident Ted Repsholdt, say that the design has allowed them to retire from cooking all together.

“I don’t have to cook because here they do it for me,” says Ted, who prefers to dine with friends at the two on-site restaurants rather than fuss with cooking and cleaning every night.

So while the Brighton’s kitchen is roomy and modern enough to please the most discriminating chef, it’s also perfect for the gourmet who would rather let someone else do the cooking.

Brighton Expected to Sell Fast

The Brighton’s convenience, style, and “best value” price have caused it to sell out completely at Sedgebrook, and Retirement Counselor Constance Barber fully expects the same shortage to occur at Monarch Landing.

“Judging by what happened at Sedgebrook,” she says, “I have no doubt that all of our remaining Brighton’s here at Monarch Landing will sell, especially since we have fewer planned for construction. Lot’s of people are fed up with maintaining a big house and paying for space they just don’t use. They’re discovering that the Brighton has everything they want—and none of the hassles they don’t.”

Limited Number Still Remain

According to Constance, there are still a few choice Brighton’s left. The Brighton 413 is a cheerful and sunny space with a large bay window that fills the living area with light. In fact, Harriett says the big, bay window in her Brighton was one of the reasons she chose that particular apartment home. According to Harriett, the extra light gives her home “a more open feel.”

Or, if it’s a great view you’re after, you might inquire about the Brighton 224, which overlooks the landscaped courtyard behind the Promenade Clubhouse. Three floors above, the Brighton 507 features an expansive view and a gracious living area where you can stretch out and enjoy it.

Constance doesn’t expect these Brighton’s may not be around for much longer. “Once you see the floor plans and the value of this design for yourself, I think you’ll understand why the Brighton is Erickson’s top-selling design. I recommend that you call me right away at 630-548-0400 or 1-800-721-0102 to set up your time to review floor plans for the Brighton. Or, if you haven’t already done so, call for your free Monarch Landing Information Kit, which includes more information about the “best value” Brighton, as well as pricing.”
