THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
You saw them dance. You heard them sing. You listened to their jokes. Now you can revisit all of the performances from this year’s Maris Grove Follies variety show and vote for the performance you thought was best!
All performances from the sold-out show are now available online at: www.marisgrovefollies.com
“We’ve got a talented bunch. We’ve got it all,” Follies performer and Maris Grove resident Jo Overholt says of the show. “I was flabbergasted to learn about all the talent we have here. You’ll see your neighbors performing skits, singing, and dancing,” she says with a smile. “I’ve learned so much about my neighbors. I can’t believe some of the talents they have.”
The acts are all quick hitters, with none more than four minutes long. Among the selections are chorus and choir performances, tap and line dancing acts, individual skits and comedy numbers, instrumentalists, and poetry readings.
“The idea started two years ago,” says Linda Husband, the show’s producer. “Resident Advisory Committee member Frank Bicking and I were talking about how we have to harness all of this talent we have here on campus.”
Husband says the performing arts center in the new Cardinal Clubhouse was the perfect venue, and this was the first entertainment program held there.
“We couldn’t be more excited at how it turned out,” she says. “It’s like audeville. We have a little bit of everything.”
