Moving doesn’t have to be a fight. That’s because people who use Erickson Realty & Moving Services at Maris Grove have a new ally in their corner. Her name is Suzanne (Suzy) McAllister.

“As our personal moving consultant, it’s her job to take all of the worry out of the moving process,” says Julieann Brant, retirement counselor at Maris Grove. “Suzy is experienced in walking our customers through every facet of a move, from preparing to put your house on the market to packing and organizing your belongings. As soon as someone decides they want to move to Maris Grove they want to be in touch with Suzy to get the ball rolling.”

Other duties as assigned
McAllister explains that her job consists of meeting with people who plan on moving to Maris Grove and doing a personal, room-by-room assessment of their old house. She then suggests easy tips they can follow to get the most value out of the home and help sell the property more quickly.

“I consider everything and make sure our clients can get the most out of their old house,” McAllister explains. “And if they want any services done, I can give people the names of the most trusted people in the industry.” McAllister says she has a full cadre of resources available for her clients. Those include specially selected Realtors, downsizers, home stagers, contractors, packers, and movers who specialize in making the moving process go smoothly. “And we only recommend people I’ve known for years who are the most trusted.”

A changing market
“In today’s market you can’t just put up a for-sale sign,” says Tom Neubauer, senior vice president of sales for Erickson. “It’s a competitive market. You have to put your best foot forward to get people into your house and get the best market value. That’s where Suzy comes in. She makes all that happen.”

McAllister brings years of real estate experience to her new position at Maris Grove. She is a licensed Realtor in both Delaware and Pennsylvania and holds a master’s degree in education. She has even taught classes on developing organizational skills. “I think that’s part of the reason why she’s so good at staging,” Brant says.

All real estate is local
McAllister’s knowledge of the region around Maris Grove comes from her personal experiences. “I’ve lived in Garnet Valley for the past ten years,” she says. “I live a short jog from Maris Grove. That’s another reason why I’m so happy to be at Maris Grove—I know and love the area. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.”

Brant says McAllister is one of the most highly qualified real estate experts she knows. “She knows this market and this area probably better than anyone I’ve ever met. She gives the best advice and really looks out for our clients.”

“I simply love my job,” McAllister says. “I get up each morning, get to meet and work with new people on an individual basis, and really try to make a difference in their lives.”

Starting next month, McAllister will have her very own column in The Erickson Tribune, where she’ll offer her best moving, home staging, and real estate advice for our readers.
