THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
It has taken less than a year for Maris Grove, the Erickson community in Concordville, Pa., to build and open its first neighborhood of homes. According to records from 18 other Erickson Retirement Communities across the country, it was the quickest time frame in the company’s almost 25-year history.
In August the community officially opened the climate controlled walkway leading from the Brinton Clubhouse to the newest residence building, Vernon Woods.
“We only build on demand so to have the requests for and be able to build that first neighborhood in under a year says a lot,” says Executive Director of the community, Maureen Heckler.
‘Everyone has on a smile’
The people who live there say that it’s more than the campus’ beautiful grounds that have helped establish its popularity.
“Maris Grove has everything I need right now,” resident Ted Kerwin says. “Everyone here, from the employees to my neighbors are very, very nice. It seems like wherever you go, everyone has on a smile.”
“It’s a testament to our residents who already live here, and it says a lot about what people think of Maris Grove when they come to visit,” says Retirement Counselor Julieann Brant. “Everyone is so outgoing and friendly.”
Looking to the future
Retirement Counselor Pam Matschat says Maris Grove eclipsed the 500 resident mark this past summer. She expects the number of residents to continue to grow this autumn as more people move in to Vernon Woods.
Matschat explains that anyone interested in looking at Maris Grove may schedule an appointment to visit. “Seeing really is believing,” she says. In the meantime, if people are considering the community, Matschat says the Priority List is their best opportunity to get the home style of their choice. “It saves your place in line and is the best way to make sure you get the home style you want when you are ready to move.”
