Easy and risk-free way to avoid a multiple-year wait

Maris Grove is close to being sold out.

But there are a number of people who want to live there and aren’t concerned about the growing demand. Instead, they enjoy exclusive invitations to activities like luncheons, roundtable discussions, and gala events.

So why the relaxed attitude? They are members of the community’s Priority List. And they know their spot in line is secure.

“With the level of interest in Maris Grove, the Priority List is your best option to get the style of home you want,” says Pam Matschat, retirement counselor at Maris Grove.

Special events are just the icing on the cake for this group. It’s their priority position that is of greatest value. Unlike the general public, Priority List members have an inside track to living at Maris Grove.

How it works
Priority List members get the first choice of any apartment home that becomes available based on the date they joined the list. And when you consider Maris Grove is almost 100% reserved, it can mean the difference between living at Maris Grove, or another, less-appealing alternative.

The date they join the Priority List is their “priority date.” From that point forward, they will always have priority over the people who join the list after them.

“It’s important to join quickly because every day someone waits, two or three people jump in line ahead on them,” Matschat says.

Avoiding the rush
Some members may not plan to move to Maris Grove for several years, but when they do decide to move, they will be at the “head of the line” to get the apartment they want. That is very important because many apartment designs could see multiple-year wait times.

With designs like the versatile Lancaster, it’s no mystery why two bedroom homes are among the most popular that Erickson offers. People who live in the Lancaster say the large living room is just as suited to hosting a family party as it is for spending a quiet afternoon curled up with the latest book club pick. The home’s generous picture windows ensure plenty of light for both.

The home they wanted
Robert and Grace Weber of Colorado knew they wanted the Lancaster so they joined the Maris Grove Priority List. A few months later, they received a phone call from their retirement counselor letting them know that the style of their choice was available.

“The Lancaster is the home we really wanted,” Robert Weber says. “And the Priority List is a reason we are getting the home we want. Actually, you could say it is the reason.”

Matschat says the process of joining the Priority List is easy. “All it takes is a one-time processing fee of $150 and a fully-refundable $1,000 deposit. Your $1,000 will be refunded to you at any time, should you change your mind,” she explains.

Another great advantage, she adds, “is you’re not just joining the list of one community, you are joining the lists of all 18 communities built by Erickson around the nation.

“So, if your children move to a new location where there is an Erickson campus and you decide to go there instead, it’s not a problem. Your priority date will be honored there just as it would be honored at Maris Grove. It’s a risk-free way of keeping your options open and securing your future.”

As the saying goes, membership does have its privileges.
