THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Maris Grove Custom Interiors Director Gayle Chissus, has spent her career making things beautiful. While raising a family in Kansas City, Gayle had her own interior decorating business for 25 years. In doing so she built a faithful following of satisfied customers. She made sure that each home she decorated mirrored the personal taste and personality of that client.
Then she moved to the Delaware area where she worked for seven years as a wedding floral designer.
“I loved being an interior decorator,” Gayle says, “getting to know each client and what they wanted, then creating a place that reflected their tastes. It was very rewarding.”
Gayle also enjoyed being a floral designer. “There was some pressure because you’re always involved in helping to plan a wedding, but it was very exciting, too.”
Now as Maris Grove’s custom interiors decorator, Gayle says, “I’m back doing what I enjoy doing —working with people to help make their homes look great.”
How Gayle Can Help Your Home Sparkle
When a Priority List member reserves a home at Maris Grove, after they choose from among 20 different floor plans they meet with the move-in coordinator, Mary Wright. Before they move, she helps them pick out carpet, flooring, countertops, cabinetry, wallpaper, and paint from a variety of incredible options.
Then after reserve members move in to their homes, they can meet with Gayle to customize their homes practically anyway they want.
“Usually, the first thing I help people with is window treatments. What kind of curtains do they want, and if they prefer crown moulding like cornice boards or other possibilities.”
Gayle says that custom woodworking, or as she likes to call “built-ins”, is another popular choice.
“I can help design an extra bookcase, shelves, or help them make better use of their closet space with extra shelves, jewelry boards, tie racks, you name it.”
