THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Rosemary (Jackie) Bradley
has moved quite a bit over the years. Whenever her husband John was transferred to a new location, Jackie gathered their five daughters, packed up the family belongings, and started over in a new town.
“Both my family and my husband’s family are from Philadelphia, so that’s always been our real home,” she says. “But we lived in Pittsburgh, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland, too.”
Then in 1973 when John’s parents became ill, the Bradleys moved back to the Philadelphia area for good. They settled in Media.
Soon after John passedaway, Jackie moved into a townhouse in Media. But after awhile that got to be a bit too much.
“Besides the maintenance and the upkeep, this townhouse has quite a few steps,” she says. “I’m tired of going up and down all the time. I was looking for a place where I didn’t have to worry about maintenance or climbing all those stairs. A place where I can relax and enjoy myself.”
About a year ago, Jackie heard about Ann’s Choice in Bucks County from some friends. “It sounded like a terrific place, so I went and visited the campus,” Jackie says. “I was really impressed. Then I heard they were building Maris Grove and I got excited, because it’s a lot closer to my family.”
Family Focused
With four of Jackie’s five daughters living in the area, Maris Grove proved to be the logical choice. There was just one problem.
“My girls didn’t want me to move to another place. Each one wanted me to move in with them,” she says. “But, I like the independence that Maris Grove offers. It’s more than a nice community. It’s like a little town filled with friendly people who I have a lot in common with. Practically everything I’m looking for is there.”
Especially Jackie’s myriad interests: gardening, swimming, exercising, reading, and bridge. “I can’t wait to move in and take advantage of the pool and Fitness Center. Plus, I’m sure someone will start a garden club or bridge club at Maris Grove.”
