Maureen Heckler is the “mayor” of sorts for Maris Grove. As the community’s executive director, she spends much of her day behind the scenes, working on budgets, resident and employee matters, and logistics.

Marvin Wilson has spent plenty of time in the kitchen. He has been a sous chef at elegant country clubs, a cook for catering companies, and he has even been a personal chef. But he says his best experiences with cooking have come as Maris Grove’s executive chef.

From the lush resident gardens and large ceramic pots to the personal plantings that surround back patios, everyone at Maris Grove seems to love getting their hands dirty in the summer time.
