Linden Ponds has blossomed as a community of more than 1,000 residents, and in the next month it will open the doors to its health care neighborhood, Renaissance Gardens.

Built upon an innovative model of continuous care paired with the lifestyle of Linden Ponds, Renaissance Gardens will welcome people who seek short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care.

"It’s pushing toward the leading edge of the industry," says Renaissance Gardens Administrator Benjamin Tyrrell.

Renaissance Gardens’ model for care is based largely upon Dr. William Thomas’ Green House model, which promotes providing long-term care in a small community setting. The Green House model is also principled on creating environments that foster emotional well-being for residents and the staff that cares for them.

A walk through Renaissance Gardens reveals 132 private rooms (each with its own half bathroom) divided into two neighborhoods of 22 residents per floor. Those who move to Renaissance Gardens can bring their own furniture, while outside their private rooms they will find a homelike setting with a living room and activities area.

Residents of Renaissance Gardens will have the same conveniences as those living elsewhere at Linden Ponds, in addition to their own beauty salon, rehabilitation facility, and gardening space.

Renaissance Gardens’ comfortable setting provides a fitting backdrop for the personalized attention that residents will receive. Low staff-to-resident ratios mean that nurses can develop relationships with people while working as a team to accommodate the needs and goals of each individual. Residents can live as they are most comfortable, remaining engaged in the activities they like, when they like, not as routine dictates.
