Every house is a reflection of the people who call it home, and the apartment homes at Linden Ponds are no exception.
It’s not just because those who move to Linden Ponds have 35 floor plans to choose from—the personalities differ immensely from one home to the next because of the colorful personalities of their owners. Most hold the best of decades-old mementos and decorative know-how.
“I think the places here are fun to decorate,” says Winifred Rome, who moved to Linden Ponds about a year ago with her husband, Richard. “It’s nice to start fresh.”
Memorable décor
The Romes brought their minimalist style and 15-year-old teak Danish furniture and accented the walls of their new apartment home with their favorite nature paintings. But Winifred Rome says she still gets the urge to rearrange or get rid of extra furniture. “It’s a work in progress, and that’s what makes it fun,” she says.
Every apartment home at Linden Ponds houses memories, and the Romes’ is no exception. Among other treasured items, they have kept a chandelier designed by a silversmith friend and a piece of the USS Constitutiongiven to Richard Rome.
Beverly Smith, who moved to Linden Ponds from just down the street in Hingham, decorates her home with her own counted cross-stitch work, which she has framed in just about every room.
Visitors to Smith’s home cannot help but notice her colonial- and oriental-style furnishings along with a convincing imitation fireplace and mantle, which she knew she wanted upon arrival and later had installed.
“I really enjoy it here. They have everything you could want,” Smith says of Linden Ponds.
Carol and Jack Barrows, who moved to Linden Ponds from Hilton Head, S.C., also display many memorable pieces in their contemporary-style apartment home. Nature-themed paintings and international tapestries pop off the white walls.
