HINGHAM, MA – They all moved to Linden Ponds from different towns/cities and none of them had any broadcast experience. Now, a crew of 33 people work together to produce, manage, and direct various programs on LPTV-Channel 6, Linden Ponds’ internal television channel.

“We work as a team to develop programming for LPTV-6 and everyone has their own job, whether it’s in front of the camera or behind,” said Liz Patton, LPTV staff volunteer. “It’s truly a team effort.”

The LPTV-6 crew already has a video camera, digital camera, editing equipment, a TV to make tapes, two VCRs, and two DVD players.

People who live at Linden Ponds can tune in to see the programs designed by the crew, which include an information series listing the daily events and opportunities available at Linden Ponds, photo shows from various events both on and off campus, and special videos taken and designed by LPTV-6 crew members.

“We have our own internal talk show called “Let’s Talk” with resident host Marian Jenkins,” said Patton. “She mostly interviews people who live here since there is a wealth of talent among those who live at Linden Ponds. A number of other shows that air on Channel 6 include Sunday vesper services, holiday events, guest lecturers, special in-house concerts, etc. We show a variety of programs on LPTV-6.”

Eventually, like other Erickson communities, Linden Ponds will have its own internal state-of-the-art television studio where residents can continue to produce and star in both informative and entertaining television programming. The studio will be equipped with cameras, an audio mixer, editing controllers, a computer to generate on-screen graphics and characters, and much more. (Dani G. Baldassare)
