Sunglasses kept the Junior Choir from Grace Presbyterian Church “cool” during a performance of the popular musical, It’s Cool in the Furnace, at Highland Springs. In this humorous version of the biblical story from the book of Daniel,
courage and faith in God miraculously saved Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
from the fiery furnace prepared for those who would not bow to the king’s golden image.

Highland Springs resident Audrey Cheang beamed with pride as she watched grandson Robin Chow sing and dance in the choir’s performance. Having arrived just nine months ago from Toronto, Canada, Cheang says she came to Dallas because her daughter lives here. As pianist for the group, Cheang’s daughter, San Cheang Chow, brought the choristers from Grace Presbyterian Church in Dallas to entertain residents.

After hearing her daughter play the piano and her grandson sing in the chorus
for her newfound friends, Cheang is assured that she defi nitely made the right decision by moving to Highland Springs. “I see my grandson more often since moving here,” she says. “Being close to family is important.” And she couldn’t get any closer than her front-row seat.
