Dallas is one of the largest cities in the state of Texas, and the ninth largest in the nation. With its world famous museums, championship sports teams, an array of top-level universities, and renowned shopping meccas such as the Galleria, the city has a little bit of something for most everyone.
In recent years, the city has been marked by rapid growth, with the Metroplex population topping six million. People who have called Dallas home for years are staying put, and those who are just realizing the benefits of Big D are getting here as fast as they can.
Here, with our friendly Texas hospitality, people are coming in search of all things American: home, health, and happiness. Likewise, fulfillment of that same dream is now drawing people to Highland Springs.
Home Sweet Home
When Highland Springs opens for residents this month, Phyllis and J.T. Dunkin will be among the first to move in.
“We wanted to stay in the area, with three of our four daughters living in the Meroplex,” says Phyllis. “And it’s funny, we both have always said we’re from Dallas, but now for the first time, we’ll actually be living in Dallas. We’ve been in McKinney, Garland, and finally we’ll have an actual Dallas address.”
The couple, who owned an urban planning and landscape architecture firm, is attracted not only by the location, but also by the amenities at Highland Springs. “We looked at other places, and there’s no comparison,” says J.T. “What sold me was that Highland Springs has it all: indoor pool, exercise room, post office, bank.”
“And another thing — the people. We went to several events for Priority List members and that just thrilled me. We are definitely looking forward to the social opportunities,” says Phyllis.
