In Every Direction, Highland Springs Is On The Rise

The hard work and dedication of the construction crews and management teams at Highland Springs is beautifully evident as progress continues on schedule, and the Hillcrest Clubhouse and Crestview Terrace residence building take shape.

Activity in the Clubhouse: Brick by brick.

With the roof and windows in place and the sheeting of the exterior complete, crews are laying the brick and stone façade of the Hillcrest Clubhouse. This phase of construction will take about 45 days to complete.

Diving in.

Work on the glass structure that will enclose the all-season pool has started, and soon the deck and finishing trim will be installed.

Here’s the restaurant and here’s the store and here’s the … Inside, on the first and second floors of the clubhouse, a world of amenities and services is taking shape. The drywall is installed, and the electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems are well underway.

News from the Crestview Terrace Residence Building: Overhead projections.

Framing that started towards the end of February is moving right along, with the roofing scheduled to begin as soon as framing is completed. Installation of the windows is already in progress.

The envelope please.

Crews are beginning installation of the exterior envelope of the building. As soon as this seal is completed, work will begin on the stone and brick facade.

Space for everyone.

The foundation for the parking deck, which will accommodate about 200 cars, is underway.

On the Grounds: The greening of Highland Springs.

The landscaping and irrigation work that started in early April continues. As this  phase progresses, planting of large trees will continue, and the outdoor beauty of the Highland Springs campus will start to blossom.

Was that quacking we heard?

With the spring rains, the lake and pond filled up, and Highland Springs first residents — a small contingent of ducks — took up temporary residence, foreshadowing the future of the lake as a permanent natural oasis for wildlife and human residents alike.

Once the lake’s stone retaining walls, drainage structures and equipment are in place, Mother Nature will fill it yet again.

Landscaping, which will be one of the last phases of construction, includes benches near the sidewalks alongside the water, and construction of a beautiful gazebo overlooking the lake.

Setting boundaries.

Along Coit Road, construction of the privacy berms and fencing has begun. A handsome complement to the buildings of Highland Springs, the fence will be a metal picket structure punctuated with stone columns.

A stately beginning.

Relocation of the utilities at the entrance of the property is now complete, clearing the way for work on the Highland Springs’ gatehouse and entry to begin. As with all Erickson communities, the gatehouse will be staffed with security personnel 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
