From a Quiet Garden Gazebo to a Private Putting Green,Highland Springs Has Big Plans for the Great Outdoors
By Sunny McKinnon
The Erickson Tribune As Highland Springs takes shape with buildings rising on the horizon, the design of the outdoor environment is also coming into focus.
Each Erickson community is unique, and each is designed to reinforce and enhance its unique personality. The landscape at Highland Springs will offer room to roam for people who plan to embrace this easy-care, active lifestyle.
An Abundance of Trees
From an aesthetic view, both the plantings and the outdoor structures must add character to the neighborhood. To that end, the designers of the grounds of Highland Springs have chosen a variety of native trees and plants to shade and define the landscape.
Stately pecans and colorful maples will stand in the courtyards. A bosque of redbud trees will provide a gateway to the greenhouse. A variety of evergreens and ornamentals will be placed throughout the property, providing pleasant shade and pleasing color.
A Clear Path to Enjoyment
Highland Springs will have a network of sidewalks, meandering around and about, providing walking paths when the weather encourages outdoor exercise.
Along the walkways, benches will define places to stop and relax, or indulge the arts with a little painting en plein air. The pathways will also lead to a lakeside gazebo that will offer quiet solitude, or the perfect setting for a group picnic.
Inviting Outdoor Amenities
The land plan for Highland Springs also boasts an indoor Aquatics Center, with a pool and spa enclosed by glass doors that open to a pleasant patio for sunning and snoozing. Across the courtyard, near the putting green, our 1,350-square-foot greenhouse will add yearround color.
