THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Each year, weather forecasters warn of impending snow storms, icy roads, and sub-zero temperatures. Yet with growing holiday shopping lists and weekly must-do errands, it’s impossible to close the door and hibernate for the winter.
However, at each Erickson community, it’s as easy to venture outdoors in the middle of winter as it is on a beautiful spring day.
Say goodbye to holiday traffic jams
Greenspring’s transportation services help community members run errands and visit their favorite “hot spots” for free. Four days per week, the free shuttle visits a variety of local venues on a regular schedule, including the Springfield shopping mall, the Kmart and Giant at Springfield Plaza, and the Walmart, Kohl’s, TJ Maxx, Giant, and Safeway in Kingstown. And downtown D.C. is just minutes away thanks to the daily free shuttle to the Franconia-Springfield metro station.
No need to stay close to home
Greenspring transportation services also make it easier to take advantage of all there is to see and do in the Washington, D.C. area. Whether heading to The Kennedy Center for a performance of the Nutcracker or visiting the Smithsonian museums with grandchildren, taxi service is provided within the local area for a nominal fee much lower than any outside taxi service can offer.
Have a great time
“I like to do lots of activities and keep doing all the things I did before moving to Greenspring,” says Ellen Gale. “Except now, I don’t have to worry about driving or parking, which is especially nice at night. With door-to-door service, it’s like have a personal chauffeur.”
“The ability to go out to interesting places without worrying about where or having to organize the tickets and find the way is priceless,” says Greenspring’s Facilities Manager Pamela Rieser. “Door to door service takes away the stress of doing everything yourself. Residents can use their energy enjoying themselves and not on the mechanics of getting there.”
