THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE

With more than 1,900 people on the Priority Lists of Erickson’s two Washington, D.C., area campuses—Greenspring and Riderwood—Erickson officials had little doubt that the announcement of a third area campus would be met with anticipation. Since that time, the demand for the Ashby Ponds information Kit continues to smash all records, with a recent 2,000% increase in requests.

Popular communities
“While the response we’ve received is tremendous, I’m not surprised,” says Ashby Ponds retirement counselor Dana Bradshaw. “Almost everyone I’ve met with is familiar with either Greenspring or Riderwood and excited to become a part of Erickson’s newest community.”

When Greenspring and Riderwood first announced their campuses in 1999 and 2000 respectively, few people had spent time on an Erickson campus. Since that time, according to Bradshaw, almost 4,000 people have moved in and shared their love of the Erickson lifestyle with family and friends.

“Also since that time, thousands of people have visited, joined the Priority List, and begun waiting for their apartment homes,” Bradshaw says. “When erickson announced Ashby Ponds, the ability to move to an Erickson community sooner became a reality.”

Face time
In addition to requesting information, people are also visiting the Ashby Ponds office in record numbers.

“In the last month alone, I’ve met with 55 people ready to discuss apartment home specifics, possible move-in dates, and our full menu of services and amenities,” Bradshaw says. “These numbers are right in line with the number of appointments I scheduled at Greenspring; however, that was years into its development.”

Also of note, the number of people visiting Ashby Ponds for informational  luncheons per month is five times greater than that of both Greenspring and Riderwood. Last month alone, a record-breaking 515 people attended these fact-finding meals.

“The luncheons are the logical next step in the planning process,” Bradshaw says. “Not only can people ask important questions in a non-intimidating group setting, but they also see first-hand where Ashby Ponds is and what it will look like.”

Continued popularity
Of the 1,410 people requesting Ashby Ponds information Kits in August, almost half made the request after reading The Erickson Tribune. With more than six million readers nationally, and 200,000-plus in the D.C. region alone, demand will most likely continue to grow exponentially.
