Whether you’re craving fresh sushi, warm-baked bread, or produce so fresh you could have picked it yourself, it’s time to head to Wegmans—considered the area’s premier grocery shopping experience.

Recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the top 100 places to work for the last ten consecutive years, Wegmans provides an unbeatable assortment of freshly prepared foods, groceries, cookware, flowers, and a full-service pharmacy.

Unbeatable customer service, low prices
A New York state-based company, Wegmans ventured into the Northern Virginia market in February 2004 when it opened a store in the Dulles area, followed by a second Virginia store in Fairfax Corner.

Promising customers that “every day you’ll get our best,” Wegmans claims to have “raised the bar on the shopping experience—better quality goods, a spectacular abundance of choice, restaurant-quality prepared foods, beautiful stores and displays, and a nearly telepathic level of customer service. We provide consistent low prices, every day, in all departments so that customers don’t have to run around town chasing deals.”

Extra spending money
In addition to offering consistently low prices on popular grocery items,  Wegmans also provides a great opportunity for anyone looking for part-time work in a friendly, supportive environment.

“We’ve always believed that the path to great customer service begins with treating our own employees right. If our people feel valued and supported, they will give their best to our customers,” says Robert Wegman, whose father began the family business in 1916.

Priding themselves on hiring a wide spectrum of employees from teenagers to retirees, Wegmans offers a broad range of opportunities in a variety of different fields—from bakers to florists to meat specialists.

The company also recognizes the academic aspirations of their employees through the popular Wegmans Scholarship Program. Since 1984, Wegmans has assisted more than 20,000 employees with more than $63 million in scholarships.

Mixing business with ethics
This year, Wegmans was named as one of the world’s most ethical companies by Ethisphere magazine, a national publication dedicated to illuminating the important correlation between ethics and product.

“We are so grateful to be included on this list because it recognizes the importance of values,” says CEO Danny Wegman. “Caring, respect, empowerment, high standards, and making a difference in the community are values that we try to live by every day at Wegmans.”

Wegmans is located less than two miles from Erickson’s Ashby Ponds community, and is open 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
