The old adage “seeing is believing” rings true when either stepping onto Greenspring’s stunning, 108-acre campus or visiting Ashby Ponds’ newly opened welcome center.

At Greenspring, visitors immediately become part of a vibrant community, while those visiting Ashby Ponds become immersed in the excitement and creation of a brand-new community.

This fall, guests will have an opportunity to see and hear all about life at these two campuses while feasting on delicious meals.

The real deal
According to the popular website www.50plus.com, the most important thing to do before choosing a retirement community is to “spend lots of time visiting and talking to residents.”

Liz Pulliam Weston, author of 11 Keys to Choosing the Right Retirement Community, agrees. She places in-person visits and talking to current residents at the top of her must-do list.

Designed to help visitors get to know both Greenspring and Ashby Ponds on a deeper level, the informational sessions provide the opportunity to meet retirement counselors Dana Bradshaw of Ashby Ponds and Sheila Leverich of Greenspring in person.

At Greenspring, the brunches include a tour of a clubhouse and various apartment homes and the chance to meet people who live at Greenspring. Ashby Ponds guests get a taste of life at this future community and have the time they need to ask questions. For many, it’s the natural next step—after reviewing Ashby Ponds’ information Kit—in the planning process.

“My daughter-in-law found Greenspring for me,” Connie Graham says. “She called and told me that this place was wonderful. The first thing we did was attend an informational luncheon. I signed up that very day!”

Good eats
“Good food might get people in the door, but it’s the information that they learn at our luncheons that really help them appreciate what both Greenspring and Ashby Ponds have to offer,” Bradshaw says. “It also provides a clear understanding of why we are different from other communities.”
