THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Despite the constant influx of dismal statistics when it comes to selling homes in Michigan, people are having success utilizing a combination of support systems and innovative selling ideas.
Take Clark and Barb Reid, for example. They held three showings and sold their 3,000-square-foot condominium, in Bloomfield Township, in 30 days. Then they moved to their new home at Fox Run, in Novi.
Many of the couple’s neighbors on either side had been trying to sell their homes for up to two years, but Clark Reid says he credits Sharon Baksa, move-in program manager at Fox Run, and her team of experts.
Baksa suggested the Reid’s stage their home, a term Reid had never heard before, despite the fact that he and his wife had moved a total of seven times.
Staging boosts selling appeal
“In essence, staging means making your house look as pretty as it is capable of looking,” Reid explains. With so many houses for sale these days, it is indeed a buyer’s market, so any method that will help a house sell faster is a plus.
Fox Run now features the Erickson Realty and Moving Services (ERMS) program, managed by Baksa.
“This program will be proactive in simplifying every aspect of the move-in process, including hands-on consultative home visits; a network of resources including professional real estate advice and marketing, staging, downsizing, packing, moving, and any other services that make moving to an Erickson community easier than staying home,” Baksa says.
