Community celebrates “Tiger Time;” residents and staff share Opening Day festivities

Posted on Wednesday, April 04, 2007

NOVI, MI – Nothing in Michigan signifies spring has sprung more than opening day for the Detroit Tigers. The men and women who live and work at Fox Run paid homage to their favorite baseball team on Monday in honor of this year’s first home game.

“This is probably the first time in more years than most of our residents or staff can remember that Detroiters are looking forward to a successful season,” says Fred Moschetta, sales and marketing director at Fox Run. Moschetta, a long-time fan and former employee at the famed Tiger Stadium, adds that “there’s nothing like Tiger baseball to make you feel like warmer weather is finally here to stay.”

The Tiger’s opening day activities at Fox Run kicked off with a rousing rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” There was a stadium-style lunch complete with hot dogs, popcorn, and soda for residents as well as staff. The home opener was shown on the big screen in the community’s Ascot Clubhouse living room for all to enjoy. Everyone was also encouraged to wear their favorite team colors. (Kathie Shaffer)
