Before moving to Fox Run, Jack Wolfe lived in Livonia, while Jane Lurain lived in Arizona; they were worlds apart. Jane moved to Fox Run in October 2003, and one year later, Jack arrived on campus. Both were widowed in 2002. “Meeting someone was the furthest thing from my mind at that time,” says Jane.

Spark of friendship
One night at dinner, Jack and Jane were seated next to each other. “The next two or three nights, we were seated together again,” says Jane. “We got to know each other.”

Their chance meetings grew. “We found out our mailboxes were practically next to each other, and that we both used the same finance company,” says Jane.

Then one day, just before Christmas, the two found themselves shopping in the same department store. “Jack asked me to the New Year’s Eve party at Fox Run,” says Jane. After the party, the two began spending more time together, and on Valentine’s Day, Jack popped the question.

Opposites attract
“It was a whirlwind courtship,” says Jane. After the couple had been dating for awhile, they both decided it was time to make it official. “At our age, we thought we cannot sit around and wait,” says Jane.

Although the couple had some things in common, they were still quite different. “He’s a golfer, which I am not,” says Jane.

Jack describes Jane as being “very organized,” much more so than he is, and “full of life and energy.”

“Everybody at Fox Run says we make a cute couple,” says Jane. “We complement each other.”

“Jack is an attractive, very kind and sweet person,” says Jane. “And he wears a lot of nice sweaters – not too many men do!”

Once the engagement was announced, Jack and Jane decided they would get married at Fox Run. “It was really a no-brainer,” says Jane. “We are very much a Fox Run couple.”

Wedding bells ring on campus
Jack and Jane have the distinction of being the only couple that has ever wed on campus. On June 18, 2005, the two lovebirds officially became Jack and Jane Wolfe. Following the ceremony, there was a reception, which was catered by inhouse staff, held in the clubhouse’s Living Room. “We had 125 people at our wedding,” says Jane. “Family and friends came, many from the community. It worked out beautifully.”
