Picture this: you are preparing to sell the home you’ve lived in for decades, and you’re worrying about how to handle the sale and the move ahead. If you’re headed for Fox Run, you can stop worrying: there’s a program called Moving Home that is ready and waiting to assist you with even the smallest of details.

Take Elizabeth Currie and her husband, Adam, who moved from Livonia; the couple had lived in their home for 48 years. The Currie’s were worried they wouldn’t be able to do it all themselves. But their worries were over when they made contact with Fox Run’s Relocation Counselor, Sharon Baksa. “Sharon knew we wanted to be moved in before the winter,” says Elizabeth. “Everything went very smoothly.” The Currie’s home sold in just two weeks.

Setting the stage
Sharon, along with the real estate agent, helps prospective community members sell their homes efficiently by offering resources that can improve the look of their properties both inside and out. “I’m responsible for tackling all the challenges folks are faced with, in regard to selling their house and moving,” says Sharon.

Leave the packing to Moving Home
Another key element to the program is assistance with packing and the actual physical moving of items. Tom Cain, who moved to Fox Run from Novi, used the program. “I used Moving Home, and it was very valuable. They understood the market, so it was very helpful in being able to sell. I think many people when they’re planning to move are overwhelmed by ‘what will I take, how much, what will fit,’ and that sort of thing.

“They will pack all your goods,” continues Tom. “Even packing the dishes—they had this marvelous paper that was germfree, so they didn’t even have to be washed when they got here. They came and packed everything up the same day, and then, when it was delivered, they put it all away. What a blessing. I’d recommend Moving Home to anyone.”

House owners can relax
Moving Home takes the anxiety and worries out of preparing a house or condo for sale,” says Christine O’Connell, regional sales director for Erickson communities. “The benefits for the future community members are less stress, more personalized service, and the opportunity to move in sooner, gaining all the benefits of life at an Erickson community.”

Sharon loves the satisfaction her role brings to the people she assists. She measures the program’s success in many ways. “Finding new homes for cherished family items; removing the physical labor of downsizing and packing; being a constant source of encouragement during the tough emotional times; selling houses quickly in economically-driven times; and feeling ‘at home’ with a wonderful night’s sleep on the first night at Fox Run,” says Sharon.

If you’re moving to Fox Run, you qualify for Moving Home.

All reserved individuals who are planning a move to Fox Run qualify for the free Moving Home program. “People are anxious to have all of these fabulous resources at their fingertips,” says Sharon. “Turning ‘frustration’ into ‘fun’ is the ultimate goal.”

“It was a lot easier than I thought it would be,” says Elizabeth.

Like Elizabeth, Adam, and Tom, you too, can take advantage of the successful Moving Home program, by contacting Fox Run at 1-800-843-1433.
