“It took a lot more time and was much more complex that I ever imagined,” says Bill Moran when asked about the television commercial for Fox Run recently completed that feature him and his wife, Joslen Letscher.
Bill and Joslen took part in a distinctive television commercial campaign for Fox Run. The series of over 15 spots are easily recognized for their testimonials by people living at Fox Run, and the famous tagline,“LIVE at Fox Run.”
The process started with an extensive interview of Bill and Joslen by Chelsea Thomas, Erickson’s assistant advertising producer.
“The first session lasted about two hours, and Chelsea wanted to know everything about living at Fox Run,” says Bill. The content of the commercial was based on that interview.
“Shooting the commercial took two days, both at Fox Run, and at various places off campus,” Bill continues.
Day One: Joslen at Work
The first day began with Joslen and the production crew going to the University of Detroit where she teaches full-time in the Department of Education.
Film footage was taken both of the exterior of the college, as well as in the classroom They then headed to 3rd Age Oakland for some more taping, where Joslen is an advisor on how one can spend later life in a fulfilling and productive way.
The first day ended back at Fox Run where Bill and Joslen’s dialogue was filmed. “It took about an hour and a half to do because they kept adjusting the lights and the drapes to create just the right effect,” says Bill.
Day Two: Bill’s Active Life
Bill and the crew headed out the next morning to the City Mission, where he tutors disadvantaged children in the Brightmoor community of Detroit.
“We then returned to Fox Run where they filmed me in the garden and the Fitness Center, places where I go each week,” Bill continues
