THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE

Maybe it’s the pencil marks that tracked your children’s growth through the years. Or perhaps it’s the rosebushes that your husband planted on your 50th wedding anniversary. Whatever the memory, our houses are full of familiar sights that create the feeling of, well, home.

However, life’s only guarantee is that change is bound to happen. Children grow up and move away, full-time work gives way to retirement, and the blessings of home ownership can start to feel like burdens.

New thoughts begin to emerge—thoughts of moving to a community where the people are among the most fascinating you’ll ever meet, where you don’t have to worry about the maintenance of your home, and where all the amenities you will ever need are at your doorstep.

When worry sets in
As the excitement of moving to this new community grows, so do the doubts: “Who do I contact to get my house ready for a sale? How will I ever manage to sort through all my things? I don’t even know where to start!”

Before the doubts become too overwhelming, there is some reassurance: A new program, Erickson Realty and Moving Services (ERMS), is now available at Eagle’s Trace, Houston’s premier retirement community.

New program does it all
“We don’t want anyone to pass up the Erickson lifestyle just because they don’t know where to start,” says Sharon Baksa, who oversees the ERMS program for all Erickson communities. “Moving can be overwhelming. We are here to help.

“This program will be proactive in simplifying every aspect of the move-in process. We provide in-home consultations; a network of resources including professional real estate advice; and assistance with marketing, staging,  downsizing, packing, moving, and any other services that make moving to an Erickson community easier than  staying home,” Baksa says.

The first step in utilizing this new service is to schedule a complimentary in-home consultation.

Concierge approach
Eagle’s Trace Personal Moving Consultant Blaga Bayer gets to know each  person’s needs and assesses how to make the move as smooth as possible. “I learn so much more about our future residents by meeting with them in their homes,” says Bayer. “I’m able to identify each person’s challenges and develop a plan to help them. I can refer them to two or three Realtors, provide a comparative home analysis to assist with pricing, and even set up appointments to have necessary home repairs completed.”

All the professional services recommended by ERMS are carefully screened to ensure that they meet the highest standards in the moving industry.

“We want you to experience the same quality of service from the professionals we recommend that you would expect to fi nd at our community,” says Bayer.

Personalized service
Kay Koury, who recently moved to Eagle’s Trace, was one of the first people to take advantage of the ERMS program in Houston. Once she met with Bayer to plan out her move, the transition was going smoothly . . . until Koury fell and broke her glasses.

“I couldn’t read the phone numbers I needed to call and cancel my utilities,” says Koury. Bayer stepped in and did the job for her.

“She [Bayer] did not overlook a single thing,” says Koury. Her experience is  what the program is all about.
