The people who have chosen the worry-free lifestyle at Eagle’s Trace are a diverse group. Some hail from nearby, some from far away. Some are travelers, others are not.
Resumes boast years of experience in every field, from science to art to education. Families range from large to small. Some are retired, while others are still members of the work force. Yet for all their differences,
Dr. Raina Patel
,
Eagle’s Trace medical director, says that when it comes to health and well-being, they are remarkably consistent.
“We have a very educated population here at Eagle’s Trace. Not only in general terms, but most every person with whom I have visited here at the Medical Center is well informed about his or her own heath care and very focused on prevention and well being,” says Patel.
The Enlightened Patient
“Here, the patients I have seen want to know about prevention,” she continues. “Fitness is a high priority, and I have seen many people who are wanting a wellness clearance to begin—or maintain—a program of physical activity.”
Patel says that her primary goal is to help individuals maintain independence. The first step is an initial examination with a review of the person’s medical history. The Medical Center also consolidates patient information from different health care providers into an instantly accessible electronic medical record.
During initial visits, Patel takes the time to get to know the patient and his or her concerns.
