PARKVILLE, MD – Maureen Hulse has been a resident services coordinator at Oak Crest for over five years. Her three-year-old son, Graham, was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer (acute lymphocytic leukemia) in June of 2005. Since then, Maureen’s co-workers at Oak Crest have shown their kindness and support of her and her family though a variety of ways, including donating paid time off (PTO) so that Maureen could be with her son during the most critical phases of his chemotherapy, making frozen meals for her family, and offering their prayers daily for Graham’s recovery.

The Hall of Fame annually recognizes people who have had an impact on the community and their peers. In addition to the certificates they received at the luncheon ceremony, Almquist and Smith will be listed in the prestigious Maryland Blue Book, which recognizes exemplary service by older adults in the state.
