Parkville, Md.—Oak Crest recently donated flu shots to Sarah’s Hope, a day resource center for people in Baltimore County, Md., experiencing homelessness. Eight members of the Oak Crest medical center traveled to Sarah’s Hope to set up a mini flu shot clinic at the center. In just over an hour, 35 shots were administered to guests of the center.
“We recently finished our flu vaccine clinics at Oak Crest and NorthBay, and decided to donate our remaining vaccine to an area organization that needed them,” said Mary Beth Coyne, regional practice administrator. “The staff was happy to spend an hour at Sarah’s Hope to help their guests stay healthy during the upcoming flu season.”
Sarah’s Hope is a collaborative effort that provides comprehensive services for the homeless to help them become self-sufficient and realize their fullest potential.
“Sarah’s Hope provides services for the area’s most vulnerable citizens,” said Amanda Morgan, director of the center. “This partnership with Oak Crest provides a much needed service to our guests and will help them stay healthy through the winter.” (Jane Powell)
