CATONSVILLE, MD -- The Erickson Way Committee at Charlestown chose to adopt two Baltimore County families for the holidays this year. Donations of multiple boxes and bags of food and gifts made two families’ holidays much brighter. A family of 13 in Rosedale, Md., and a family of three in Catonsville, Md., received the donations. Charlestown employees delivered the gifts and food – which filled an entire van – to each recipient family.

The Erickson Way Committee at Charlestown, which is operated under the auspices of the human resources department, decided to show the value of leadership by participating in the “Adopt a Family” program through the Baltimore County Department of the Social Services.

“The committee had chosen one family, but because so many employees showed interest in contributing, they were able to adopt a second family,” said Paulette Tansill, director of human resources for Charlestown. “We are very proud of our employees for showing leadership and pulling together to help others in the community beyond the gates of Charlestown.”

Erickson Way committee members are: Ann Brown, Dennis Dawson, Emily Fowler, Shelli Giardino, Michelle Hunter, Mike Ingrassia, Tricia Laws, Karen Parker, Jacqueline Poindexter, John Ryan, and Karen Smith. (Mel Tansill)
