CATONSVILLE, MD – From fine needlecrafts to delicious baked goods, Charlestown retirees showcased their talents at the annual resident craft show on October 26 and 27.
More than 30 talented residents displayed and sold their wares, ranging from seasonal greeting cards, note cards, knit scarves, quilts, hand painted clothing, handbags, and jewelry, to wooden toys. Also on sale were delicious food items prepared in the kitchens of Charlestown residents. From relishes to jellies and jams to homemade pickles, there was something for everyone’s palate.
“I look forward to the craft fair every year,” said resident Madelon Hudson. “The craft show gives us an opportunity to share our talents with friends and staff and get caught up with friends you don’t see everyday. It always amazes me to see the beautiful items my neighbors create.”
With over 850 people attending this year’s craft fair, the residents’ wares were gone by Friday afternoon. Tired but happy with their success, Charlestown residents were already planning what they would make for next year’s fair as they packed up their displays.
