Some at Cedar Crest choose work over retirement

For the past four years, January through April has been Frank Elwood’s busy season. During those times the longtime Cedar Crest resident has gotten up, put on his work clothes, and commuted to his  job at a local H&R Block office where he prepares taxes for those who need the help.

Moving to a retirement community doesn’t mean leaving your old neighborhood behind. “At Cedar Crest we encourage people to stay or become active in our greater community as well as on campus,” says Kristin DiFidi, community services manager of the Erickson community in Pompton Plains, N.J.
