THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Cedar Crest recently partnered with renowned travel company, Colette Vacations. Together, they will provide the people who live there with escorted trips to far-off destinations.
So far, the partnership has been a huge success, according to Tom Fox, Cedar Crest’s trip coordinator. More than 70 people attended an interest meeting held in Cedar Crest’s performing arts center this September. Diego Galez, district sales manager from Colette Vacations, presented three upcoming trips: “Best of China,” “Canadian Rockies by Rail,” and “Trains of the Colorado Rockies.”
All aboard!
Priority List members Diane Driesse and Arlene Darrah attended the Colette Vacations presentation in September and are already making plans. “We have reserved our apartments here, so we can partake in trips and activities, but I can’t wait to live here,” Darrah says.
Driesse, who attended the meeting with her, says, “I might be interested in the Canadian Rockies tour. [Arlene] will go with me even though she’s already been there because it’s so beautiful.”
2008 trip details
“Canadian Rockies by Rail” is a ten-day tour on the Rocky Mountaineer. Travelers will ride the train during the day and sleep in hotels like the world-class Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise at night. The Cedar Crest trip starts May 22, 2008.
“Trains of the Colorado Rockies” is a nine-day tour aboard four locomotives. Fox chose to schedule this trip for fall 2008 so travelers could see the stunning autumn foliage. Residents from Cedar Crest’s sister community, Ann’s Choice (in Bucks County, Pa.), will join them.
“Best of China,” departing April 17, 2008, will take travelers from Cedar Crest and Ann’s Choice on a 14-day tour of the ancient country. Galez encourages travelers to try local customs and culinary specialties like Peking duck.
