Recently the Tribune randomly asked people at Cedar Crest, “Is there anything you’d like to do in the New Year that you haven’t done before, or at least not for a while?” Here are some of the answers we received:

I have been volunteering for the local school system for the last couple years. I work directly with high school students, and last year I also worked on developing a strategic plan for the board of education. The latest idea is to establish a town-wide foundation to support programs for K-12 students that cannot be supported by the school budget because of budget caps. There are three or four of us, including a couple of us at Cedar Crest, who are trying to get this embryonic proposal started. So that’s what I’d like to do next year—help get this new foundation established.

I would like to expand on something I’ve already been doing. My husband and I just moved to Cedar Crest, but I taught scripture for many years with a group that met in a private home. I met some people who were very interesting—some who were famous. And I’m thinking that I could have a teaching class here that would interest the people who live at Cedar Crest. That’s where my love is—teaching—and I feel that sharing knowledge is what we’re supposed to do.
Jack and Marie Fisher
Jack: We’re going to Great Britain to visit my sisters-in-law and my brother-in-law, and all the nieces and nephews whom I haven’t seen in 12 years!
Marie: My sisters are twins. One lives in London and she visits us about every two years. She’s very popular here when she comes! The other twin lives up in Scotland with her husband, in Helensburgh on the River Clyde.
Jack: We’re going to England first, and then up to Scotland. It’s going to be a very, very happy time!
