The event opened up on the assisted living floor with the parents telling the residents about their children. Next, Renaissance Gardens at Cedar Crest’s Chaplain Alan Bowen, who planned the event, blessed each child with scented holy water that was brought back from Israel by Coco Pierce, a registered nurse at Renaissance Gardens at Cedar Crest. He also gave each child a remembrance book called “Bless Me” to take home. In addition, the chaplain read the book to the audience. Following a session of mingling, the children and residents enjoyed an Elmo cake, pudding, and assorted beverages. The adorable children then visited the skilled nursing floor.

Resident Ella Murphy said, “I never saw such beautiful babies.”

“I am very happy watching the kids,” said Ruth Klein, a resident.

Resident Helen Morley said, “It is so nice to see who the children belong to because we know their mothers.”

The residents really enjoyed the fun-filled day and the staff looks forward to holding this event again in the future.
