The 7th Annual Brooksby Village Gala, themed “An Evening in Paris,” was much like the first six—magnificent!

Over 400 people attended this years’ Gala which raised over $50,000. “This Gala is the biggest event of the year,” says Gala Committee Chair and Brooksby Village Gift Planning Coordinator Lytta Dorsey. “People who live and work at Brooksby Village enjoy dressing up for the Gala every year. It was a fabulous night of entertainment, food, fun, and dancing.”

Home for life
The $50,000 in proceeds from the Gala benefit the Benevolent Care Fund—a fund set up to provide support to residents who, despite careful planning, outlive their financial resources. This fund enables people to remain at Brooksby Village, knowing they will always receive the care they deserve.

In over 20 years, no one has ever been asked to leave an Erickson community because they were unable to pay—once you move into an Erickson community such as Brooksby, you have a home for life. This year’s numbers substantially beat the $36,000 that was raised last year.

‘Over 400 people’
“Each year the Gala brings together both people who live and work at Brooksby Village with our supporting vendors and local community members,” says Dorsey. “Over 400 people attended this year’s annual Gala.”

For many people, the Gala means more than a delicious meal; more than a fun night out partying with family and friends. For many people the Gala is so much more important, offering peace-of mind that comes with knowing that no matter what their financial situation is, they will always have a great home.
