Presidential Historian Speaks to a Full House and Signs Copies of Her Newest Book

Doris Kearns Goodwin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and presidential historian, spoke to a large group of people who live at Brooksby Village last month. Ruth Butler, who lives at Brooksby Village, helped arrange Goodwin’s visit to the campus. After speaking, Goodwin signed copies of her latest book, “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln,” a New York Times bestseller, which centers on Lincoln’s mastery of men and how it shaped the most significant presidency in the nation’s history. Goodwin won the Pulitzer Prize in history for “No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II,” which was a bestseller in hardcover and trade paper. She is also the author of the bestsellers “Wait Till Next Year,” “The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys,” and “Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream.” She also serves as an NBC-TV news analyst and lectures around the world.
