Accomplished, Interesting, Involved—Meet Eric and Rita Bauer
Where did you move from and how long had you lived there?
We lived in Walpole for about six years. Before that we lived in Natick for twenty seven years.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
We are quite involved here at Brooksby. My wife and I are one of the founders of the Treasure Chest. Together Rita and I were in charge of the first bridge group that formed here. We are both involved in the Entertainment Committee which brings in live entertainment to Brooksby and we are also in the Welcoming Committee.
I heard you started a wine tasting party.
I owned a well known liquor and wine shop on Newbury Street in Boston that’s still there under my name. Soon after we moved in, we organized a wine tasting party and we’ve had one every year for the past six years. I’m also responsible for the restaurant wine list at Brooksby.
Why did you choose a Kingston?
We originally signed up for the Jackson. But then we got a call asking if we were interested in moving in a few months early and that there was a Kingston available. We took a look at the layout and we really liked it. We measured it and all of our furniture fit perfectly.
What do you like most about the Kingston?
We really like this layout because it is large with both bedrooms are down the hall away from the living area. And we have a balcony which is really nice.
Some people have turned their second bedroom into an office or den—have you?
Yes. We use the larger bedroom as the master which is also big enough for my desk and computer. The second bedroom is a den. We have our television and a book shelf; a couch and a recliner in there. Sometimes my wife and I don’t agree on certain programs so she watches hers in the bedroom and I watch mine in the den.
