Isabelle Caldwell Shares Her Experience About Living at Brooksby
Meet Isabelle Caldwell
Brooksby is filled with hundreds of people—accomplished, interesting, involved. Each of these unique individuals brings their experience and passions, resulting in the inspiring, dynamic community Brooksby is today. Here’s your chance to meet one of these people.
From where did you move and how long had you lived there?
I moved from Hamilton. I lived there my whole life—for 62 years until I moved to the Cape in 2000. I moved to Brooksby seven months ago.
What did you do there?
I raised three children and was active in their schooling and in my church. I started a Bible class which became very large. I was a liaison for weddings at the church, too. I loved it because I went to all the rehearsals andweddings, and I also headed a craft table for 12 years.
Was it hard to move to Brooksby?
Both decisions were easy. I decided to move to the Cape and that was a good decision. Then I decided to come to Brooksby and that was an easy decision—I love it here.
What kind of apartment do you have?
I have an Ellicott. It has plenty of cabinet space, a big walk-in closet, and a large linen and hall closet. I haven’t even been able to fill the cabinets—partly because I’m no longer cooking; I go to all the restaurants here. My view is great because I love the sun. I sit in that chair and watch the sunsets. Every sunset is different and they are so beautiful.
Which clubs and classes do you plan on joining?
There’s so much to choose from, I haven’t decided what I’mgoing to do yet. I’m going to join an exercise program at the Fitness Center. Because I did crafts all those years, that group would like me to join, and I do want to start reading more.
One thing I do know, I love people and I like to meet new people; I think the people here are so interesting.
