The Treasure Chests at Oak Crest and Brooksby Village mark milestone birthdays

PARKVILLE, MD – Last week was a big week for The Treasure Chest, stores found at several Erickson communities that resell goods donated by residents and staff. At Oak Crest, the Treasure Chest celebrated its tenth birthday on October 10, while at Brooksby Village, the Treasure Chest marked its fifth year in operation.

Residents once again donate items for "Welcome Home Baby" baskets

PEABODY, MA – Every newborn needs hats, socks, blankets, sweaters, and more. That's why people who live at Brooksby Village have again this year knitted baby clothes and blankets and donated them to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children’s (MSPCC) “Welcome Home Baby” basket project, which benefits struggling families in MSPCC's Healthy Families and GoodStart programs.

PEABODY, MA – Over 30 people who live and work at Brooksby Village in Peabody, Mass., and Linden Ponds in Hingham, Mass., came together on Sunday, October 1 to walk in the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk ‘06. Their efforts raised a total of $13,000. Brooksby Village and Linden Ponds raised a combined $5,400 and Erickson Retirement Communities donated $7,500 as a platinum-level sponsor of the event.

Energy Efficient Light Bulbs on Sale Wednesday, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

PEABODY, MA – The Energy Committee at Brooksby Village was looking for ways to be energy conscious at Brooksby Village. After doing some research, the group determined if people who live at Brooksby Village began using energy-efficient light bulbs the campus would save 75 percent in energy costs when compared to incandescent bulbs.
