THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE

Gone are the days when changing your home was a massive undertaking.

That’s because today, moving support companies are becoming the hottest thing to hit the real estate market since the invention of cardboard boxes and masking tape.

Ann’s Choice, a community in Bucks County, Pa., is holding seminars that feature the most trusted companies to ensure its future residents have access to the best organizations that make moving easy.

“Most people are excited to move to a new home,” says Marie Dmoch, retirement counselor at Ann’s Choice. “But the planning and organizing can take a lot of the fun out of it. That’s why we offer moving seminars and a list of trusted real estate agents, organizing companies, and moving experts to make the process carefree.”

All members of the community’s Priority List and those who are moving to Ann’s Choice are welcome to attend these monthly expos.

Everything at your fingertips
James and Susanna Brown recently moved to Ann’s Choice from Warrington, Pa. Susanna Brown says they weren’t sure what moving company to choose to help them move from the Cape Cod-style house they had lived in for years. So the couple attended a moving seminar at Ann’s Choice.

“It was extremely helpful,” she says of the expo. “They offered us plenty of ideas and a number of reliable moving and planning companies to choose from.

And they even gave us all the contact numbers of the people to get in touch  with to get the ball rolling.” Brown says the expo put her mind at ease and made the move go smoothly. “We figured if Ann’s Choice had them there, at the expo, they must be worthwhile. They are so good in everything else they do, we knew they wouldn’t recommend someone who wasn’t dependable,” she says. “And everything did go very well.”

A ‘Perfect Plan’
Judith Keene, who ecently moved to Ann’s Choice from a large four bedroom colonial house in Upper Holland, Pa., perused a list of moving resources that Ann’s Choice gave her and eventually decided to use The Perfect Plan moving company. The local company helps people move, but their specialty is packing and organizing.

“It was the best thing I ever could have done,” Keene says about using the resource. “And believe me, I needed their help. Their promptness and attention to detail was great. They did such a wonderful job. They even mapped out where everything went. They completely reorganized me.”

Lynn Donnelly, who co-founded the company in 2001 with her sister Charlene Arnold, explains, “We’ve moved before, but were shocked at what a cold, tough process it was. Our company was simply formed to provide guidance and assistance with compassion and empathy throughout the entire moving process.”

Keeping it positive
Ann’s Choice Retirement Counselor Donna Donohue says, “Moving doesn’t have to be a hassle. So many people try to do it all on their own, and we’ve found that the key to making it easy is just finding a little help. We don’t require people to use these services; we just make sure everyone moving to Ann’s Choice can find the best help if they want it.

“Moving can be a great experience if it’s done right. So why not make it a positive experience and use someone who is trustworthy and reliable?”
