THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
No one cooks like mom does.
But if you have a meal at Ann’s Choice, you might think she’s the one cooking things up in the kitchen.
“Our goal every day, when we are developing menus or preparing something, is to give our patrons the best, tastiest home-style meal that we can,” says Mark Diller, the executive chef on campus. “The staff takes pride in what we do. It’s like we’re cooking for our own families. I think we put our heart into each meal.”
Three squares and dozens of choices
One meal a day at any of the community’s restaurants is included in each resident’s monthly service package. So from a sit-down, pot roast dinner with friends to a quick club sandwich for lunch in the café, Ann’s Choice has something for people with every schedule and every appetite, no matter what the day or time.
“W e never know what our residents’ schedules will be, so we offer a lot of variety,” Diller explains. “We have some residents who want a sit-down meal every day and others who want to grab something quick before hitting the golf course or going to a club meeting. Others like to bring a meal back to their home and eat with guests or friends.”
Letting the pros do it
“I don’t have to cook anymore,” Ann’s Choice resident Beverly Seybert says. After Seybert and her husband Arthur moved to Ann’s Choice from nearby Plymouth Meeting, Pa., they quickly got used to eating at the community’s restaurants. “We love to eat here. The food is great, and it feels like home to us. And the staff here is marvelous. They just can’t please you enough,” she says.
“Never having to cook again, unless you want to, is one of the best features about Ann’s Choice,” according to Retirement Counselor Marie Dmoch. “People who move in that love to cook still say how nice it is to have one less meal to shop for and prepare. It opens up their day. And with the quality of food at Ann’s Choice, that one meal a day they have here often turns into two or three.”
