“I was looking for a place that could keep up with me,” says Madeline Waldman.
So when the longtime Abington, Pa., homeowner moved in to Ann’s Choice in April 2004, she was skeptical as to whether the decision to move was the right one. But so far, so good.
“I love my home,” she says. “Moving to Ann’s Choice was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
Jumping right in
When Waldman, a naturally outgoing and energetic person, moved in to Ann’s Choice, she wasted little time before she got heavily involved with the Speakers Bureau and a variety of card clubs, and reconnected with a number of friends. “I didn’t realize how many of my friends are here,” she says. “It immediately felt like home.”
Waldman gave up the everyday chores of maintaining her house but still had plenty to keep her busy. Not having to take care of a house meant more time to pursue her passions.
“It’s a great place to be. There’s always something to do, and the people here are the friendliest I’ve ever met. It’s really like a resort. You can do as much or as little as you want,” Waldman says. “The sky is the limit.”
Always something new
And the excitement hasn’t worn off. Waldman says she finds new endeavors every week. Most recently, Waldman says that she has been participating in the history club, the drama club, and enjoying a card game that is a spin off of canasta called “Hand and Foot.” She also recently exhibited another talent when she appeared in a USO theatre performance as a dancer.
“I was like the Andrews Sisters—jitterbugging out there,” she says with a laugh.
And Waldman says that she recently returned from a trip to the theater in New York, where she saw two plays including The Color Purple.
