Keeping up with the bills each month can be a daunting task.

As the weather gets warmer, air-conditioning can double gas and electric costs. Lawn care and gardening may also add another $100- $150 a month to a homeowner’s already stretched budget.

Then there are the monthly bills to count on—homeowner’s insurance, real estate taxes, trash pickup, and cable television. Unforeseen expenses, such as a clogged drain or broken window, mean pulling out the checkbook to pay the plumber or the handyman.

But people who live at Ann’s Choice say that the convenient monthly service package includes all of these things for one reasonable price.

“It really is a great value for the money,” Ann’s Choice resident Blanche Volpe says about the community and its service package.

More bang for the buck
While the convenience was nice, it was the affordability of the service package that made the decision to move to Ann’s Choice easy for Volpe. “It’s convenient, but the best part is it’s a good value,” she says.

Residents like Volpe pay one monthly service package plus their telephone bill. The package includes gas, electric, cable television, property taxes, maintenance of appliances and the grounds, and one meal a day in any of the community’s restaurants.

More for less
“Surveys at Erickson communities around the country confirm that the majority of people living at them find that they end up spending the same or even less than what they were paying each month in their house,” Retirement Counselor Marie Dmoch says. “What’s more, Ann’s Choice offers services and amenities that no single-family home or neighborhood ever could.”

Volpe, who has lived at Ann’s Choice for four years, says, “I love my home here. I feel it’s very comfortable in every respect, and, financially, it’s a breeze to handle.”

“I realized that, for everything you get with your monthly service package, Erickson communities are a great value,” she adds.

Feels like a resort
“Ann’s Choice boasts many of the same amenities and services you would find at an exclusive resort, including a swimming pool, fitness center, restaurants,” Retirement Counselor Donna Donohue says. “Many of the most popular features are open to residents without extra charges. Unlike a luxurious resort, however, both communities [Ann’s Choice and Maris Grove] provide these amenities and services at a value you may not have thought possible.”

Expenses disappear

Almost all monthly expenses at Ann’s Choice—with the exception of the telephone bill—are included in the monthly service package. In addition, the communty provides access to a full range of popular services and amenities, including a multi-million-dollar clubhouse, state-of-the-art fitness center, performing arts theater, library, computer lab, creative arts studios, and hundreds of clubs and activities.

The monthly service package also covers the cost of the following:

• Gas and electric
• Water, heat, and air-conditioning
• Sewage and trash pickup and disposal
• Real estate taxes
• Normal home repair (furnace inspection and repair, upkeep, appliance maintenance, plumbing)
• Transportation to local outings and shopping
• Periodic home repair (heating, and air-conditioning repairs, roof replacement)
• Property insurance
• Seasonal maintenance (snow removal, raking, grass mowing, landscaping, outside painting)
• Monthly cable television
• 24-hour security, emergency response service
• One restaurant meal per day
